Theme Day: Doorways

Today is the first day of the month.
The Theme Day has arrived. Today: Doorways.
I have chosen this door. This gate is located at the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia (Museo de Bellas Artes de Murcia). It is a door that was part of the facade of the Palace Silk Contrast (17th century). Now is the doorway to one of the temporary halls of the museum and the pavilion is also documentation room and library.

Lovely! And how wonderful that they were able to preserve it and use it again!

Beautiful doorway. I love the wooden doors.

Oh the Europeans have the advantage with this Theme as they have such glorious examples of doors and doorways. This is just magnificent.

Tell me though: what is that shape in the lower right hand corner. It sort of looks like a pair of jeans hung out to dry. It is a sheet of metal or some such>

This is totally beautiful. The colors are so delicate and the structure so strong. Thanks so much for posting it!

Julie: What looks like a pair of pants, they are the curtains that serve to prevent penetration of natural light into the pavilion.
